Mr. Giggles and the first day of school

We just started J2 on baby food a few days ago. So far he loves squash and hates just about everything else. So opposite of Josh who loved everything but Sweet Potatos which he still dislikes. J2 is such a happy baby, constantly giggling and laughing while we feed him. He rarely cries, rarely gets upset really. He is sweet.

I also moved him into his own room. It had gotten to a place where he wasn't sleeping well and neither were we. By the end of the first week he had slept through the night twice. Last night he slept from midnight-6am so it wasn't that bad.

Today was the first day of school. It is so quiet here. Especially now that Johnny is napping. He is teething and not feeling too hot I don't think. Besides that there are no screaming kids, no slamming doors, and no James yelling at the kids to be quiet because he is trying to work.

JJ looked very handsome today in orange. I hate the color but love it on him. S looked very pretty in her little sundress and J1 looked cute in his polo. S and JJ will be home in 3 hours and I can't wait to hear about their first day at school, their new friends, and look through the papers they bring home. Then we will go pick up J1 about 430. That gives him time to get rid of some of the energy he is bound to have after being put down for a nap for 2 hours today! After nap they do snack, then they go to the playground, the gym and do music/dance.

For right this second at least, all is right with the world. I just want to get back into a routine.

"Why mommy?"

My mom likes to tell a story of a time when I was a kid and constantly asked why. When she sat me down and explained to me why I can't always ask why, I looked at her and said, "Why?" Well mother, you are now getting your revenge.

All day long, all I hear from J1 is, "Why?" It doesn't matter what it is we say or do he asks why constantly. So far I still think it is funny. Not sure that will be the case for long however.

Only two weeks till school starts. I tried to buy some clothes online today from Childrens Place that were clearanced, but when it got to the part where I can view my cart it didn't show me the item or the sizes ordered. Since I have three boys and in at least one case had bought them all matching shorts, I needed to double check on the sizes. I eventually gave up. If I want their clothes bad enough I will go to their store to buy them.

This week wasn't so bad with the kids. They didn't scream as much which means I didn't yell as much. Maybe it is just having the shutters that muffles the screams. Either way, it was a relief. I am looking forward to getting into a routine where I can work out and work period with just J2 here when the kids go back to school.

A few pictures!

These include a birthday boy, a teething baby and circus fun! Enjoy!

The miracles of shutters

We got our indoor shutters installed over the windows today. They were promised to make our house look better, the value increase and keep it coolor. All of which it does. What they didn't tell me is that it would make the kids yell quieter. Yes, I said yell quieter. The kids are not nearly as loud now that we got the shutters installed. I am sure the shutters didn't do anything, more of an issue of the house echoing less. They definitely make it look really awesome in here.

Today was J2's 4 month well check and J1's 3 year well check. On his next birthday he will get 4 shots. :( J2 got 2 today and the rotovirus vaccine. He is asleep now...just beat. He is a little over 18lb which is about 2lb lighter than I was expecting and over 27 inches long. He is in the 97% percentile in both categories. J1 is a little less than 39 pounds and 39 inches. Talked to the doctor about his attitude today. He thinks it is probably related to his hearing/speech issues but could be because he gets too much sugar or processed foods. He said the "coco milk" in the morning could do it. I am going to hide the Nesquick. He thinks that school in 3 weeks will help him. I hope it does. Because he is big and strong and has met all his milestones the doctor does not think it is metabolic or chemical which is good news. That means there is hope.

The circus on Saturday was fun, even if I had to listen to someone complain the whole time and be completely ungrateful. I will not be buying tickets for her again to go anywhere. I will post pictures later. J2 just woke up...
