Almost there....

The movers will be here to get us out of this stupid, stupid apartment in about 9 hours. I should be in bed. It has been a long weekend of moving stuff and getting the house set up. My father's desk looks great in our office, tomorrow it should be up and complete. As James says, he has great taste in furniture as he had a super comfy leather reclining sofa.

We are getting up by 6 to finish packing the little bit we have left and then I will head out about the time the movers get here, probably a little before. It dawned on me that they are bringing a tractor trailer...I need to move the van before they get here. Then I will hang out at the house. We left our dog there today.

Introduced the kids to the slip-n-slide yesterday. They had a blast and it was so much fun watching the kids just be kids. Then Sky and Josh started puking. Hopefully the puking is over now. Wish us luck tomorrow! I think we will need it...

Dry apple jacks and gatorade

Yesterday went well until we got home at about 7pm. James' mom was here and she bought a mocha cake. My first clue that something was wrong should have been when JJ only wanted a couple of bites and then said he was full. Within about 5 minutes he was crying, holding his belly and saying it hurt. I told him to get a bowl and within a minute everything in his belly was out of his belly. I cleaned him up, gave him meds and put him to bed. About 1230am he woke me up with it coming out the other end. This morning he said he is still feeling bad, yet he wanted to eat and sounds fine. I gave him dry apple jacks and gatorade.

"Just tools"

Supposedly she just took some tools and she is going back to get her bed and armour tomorrow. Since I don't know what was in there in the first place I really have no idea if she takes anything else. My dad had told her that he wanted her to take care of his tools, I know that...so I don't care....We will see what is left tomorrow.

Just got a box...

Well my father's five minute wife met me to collect a check and give me a box of some pictures she had. Although I never saw these in the house so I am wondering if they came from storage. Honestly, the pictures were awesome. I got some pictures back of S and J from when they were little that I haven't seen in a very long time, but besides that there was a framed photo of my grandparents and a cross stitch my grandmother did about "sons". I plan on hanging them in the hall of our new house between the boys room. It is awesome to have that from her. I also got back the pictures and letters that the kids drew my father before he died, after they found out he was dying. The pictures and letters that made me want to bawl.

I called the storage as I am going there tomorrow and was informed that Kelley was there this morning with a big truck. I wonder what she took out...or if she just got the pictures. Doesn't matter. I will take the rest on Saturday when I go down there with the moving truck and put new locks on it tomorrow morning when I head down. If nothing but the couch and desk is in there, then I will cancel the check I wrote her and send her another minus the $255 for storage. She is a pain in my ass.

Crazy busy weekend

I barely remember Saturday we have been so busy. I know that my friend Leigh brought her son over for me to babysit for a couple of hours. He is just the cutest thing and the kids had a blast playing with him. Then we went to Babies R Us and were home for lunch. I think that was all we did that day however. It has gotten so hot here, we don't want to go anywhere or do anything if we don't have too.

On Sunday we had new house things to take care of. My friend Charlene called to see if I wanted to bring the kids swimming. I told her we were busy but if she wanted to take them swimming I would let her. Lucky for me she accepted and we all won. The kids had fun while James, J2 and I had a relatively quiet afternoon. We even got to check out a mexican restaurant by the new house which has fantastic margariras and really good food. I am thrilled to have a good mexican food restaurant so close to the house.

Monday was definitely the longest day. Got up about 4 in order to get work done and at nine the whole family, including James' mom, headed out towards the house. We went to check out a preschool for J1 and we should have just walked out the second we walked in, but I am too nice. The place stunk and it just felt dirty. Came to find out it was the chicken for lunchtimes chicken spaghetti. Not a pleasing smell.

We left there and had time before out 11am appt at the house so I mentioned that I had just received an email from another facility we should go check out. We headed over there and we were really impressed. It was clean, bright, open and quiet, and it had a huge playground. The seemed to offer everything educationally wise that we were looking for as well. When we were leaving we could smell lunch cooking and it made us hungry. Definitely a better smell. We decided to place J1 there for one year at least and hope that his speech will improve...and his attitude! He will start the same day the kids start at their new school which we discovered is only about 2 blocks away from the pre-school. I will just take them all to school in the morning and then the older kids can ride the bus home. Once they are done with homework we will go get J1 and they can all play together. I am really looking forward to this arrangement.

We then had our home walkthrough and we probably drove the guy crazy with all the little things we found that he needs to fix. Oh well. We are paying enough money for the house, everything will be perfect when we move in. Then we returned some fans we discovered were crap at Home Depot, dropped the older kid and James' mom off at the house and ran to Costco to buy new fans and some energy efficient bulbs. On Saturday James has big projects to accomplish. LOL

Came home last night, worked some more and have been working all day today. Later I need to pick up the keys for my father's storage unit and go look for bulbs in sizes that Costco did not carry. Plus I got my new computer! My reward for everything will be playing on it later when I am all done. I am very excited. Whoo hoo!! Hopefully the kids will cooperate and behave.

Bad day

So today started off crappy. I awoke to find out that my wonderful step mother who loved my father so much that she made sure he had life insurance before she would marry him when she knew he was going to die cancelled a trip I planned to take with the kids to CA to see my mother. A trip I am sure my father would not have had a problem with. Can you hear the sarcasm?

Then I was told by her that as his wife it is all hers and I have no right to any of it. I also have no right to any of his personal effects in storage. Stuff she forced him to store when he moved into her house. None of it was ever hers so why she wants it I don't know? Why would you want baby pictures of someone else anyway???

This is getting ugly. The only reason he married her was because she refused to jump in bed with him unless he did...and this was a restriction she placed AFTER they found out he was dying. He clearly was not in his right mind, but would fighting the will be worth it?

I truly believe that what goes around comes around and one day someone will treat her children the way she is treating me. If I was a fly on the wall I would tell them they can thank dear ol' mom for it.

Joshua is feeling better

Well, they said it would take 2 weeks and they were right. 2 weeks ago today J1 had his tonsils removed and he has behaved pretty well for the most part and much better than normal. Today we went to the mall and he was back to his old self. We didn't stay long. I would rather him just run around the house...at least then I don't have to worry about losing him. Who cares if the crazy old lady downstairs complains. What are they going to do? Kick us out??

First post!

Ok...so why did I do this? I figured I needed a good and easy way to keep all my friends and family up to date on the kiddos and the chaos that is constantly going on in our home. Will I be able to keep it updated? We shall see. I was never very good with a diary.

About us: I am Christine, DH is James, kids are Skylar (DD, 8), Jayden (DS, 6), Joshua (DS, 2) and John (DS, 10 weeks). Oh, we also have a lab that is 2 named Krissy. Our house is definitely what I would call madness. Right now we are in a little bitty 1500 square foot apartment and we are in each others way. That will all change soon however! In less than 2 weeks now we are mvoing into a big, gorgeous 4000 square foot house with a large backyard. We plan on getting a playset for the kids and Costco has this great "waterpark" I want to buy the kids. I can't wait to go on it! Whether or not we buy it will depend on if we have money left over after the very expensive move we have coming up. Unfortunately there are no coupons in the next batch of Costco coupons for either item! There is however a coupon for ceiling fans. Will have to see what the price is and if it is good enough we will take back the fans we bought at Home Depot and buy them from Costco instead.

Summer is upon us and we are now in day 4 of summer vacation. Only about 75 days or so to go? Looking forward to August 24th!
